Road show focusses on proper use of banners, national flag

THE Information Department, through the Nationhood Unit under the Nationhood and Community Division, held its first road show on the ‘Proper Use of Banners, the National Flag and Materials Associated with National Interests’ yesterday.

The event was held at the auditorium hall of the Information Department’s new extension building.

Brunei Umrah pilgrims safe from Madinah quake

BRUNEIAN Umrah pilgrims under At-Taqwa Travel Tours are safe from a 2.5 magnitude earthquake that hit the holy city of Madinah.

Chief Finance Officer of At-Taqwa, Awangku Mohd Nassirudeen bin Pengiran Haji Yusoff, told the Bulletin that his Liaison Officer, Haji Shamsul Baharin bin Haji Abdul Rahman who is currently in Madinah reported that the 10 Umrah pilgrims in Madinah are safe while the remaining 36 pilgrims are out of harm’s way in Makkah.

Exhibition on Prophet Muhammad extended

THE ‘Pameran Cinta dan Kenali Rasulullah SAW’ exhibition has been extended until January 31. This was announced by the Avertu Management Services, the organiser of the exhibition, due to an overwhelming demand.

The organisers informed that the artefacts of the exhibition will remain in Brunei until the end of January. Members of the public and students have the opportunity to visit the exhibition, at the International Convention Centre (ICC) in Berakas, relocated to the Muzakarah Hall.

Double-murder case adjourned

THE Magistrate’s Court yesterday adjourned the trial of a double-murder case to next month, pending further investigations into the gruesome incident that shocked the country.

The defendant, 25-year-old permanent resident Mohd Khairulnizam bin Ali Noh, was charged in October last year with assaulting a man using a deadly weapon and stealing a woman’s car, and was later charged with the murder of two women aged 73 and 23.
