THE Director-General of the Islamic Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ISESCO) Dr Abdulaziz Othman Altwaijri visited Universiti Brunei Darussalam (UBD) Tuesday to discuss on potential collaboration in academic and research fields.

On hand to welcome Dr Abdulaziz for a presentation on UBD at the main administrative building of the campus was UBD Acting Vice-Chancellor Hajah Rubiah binti Haji Yacub and the senior management of the university.

Eksplorasa 2 cooking show a journey to village charms

RADIO Television Brunei (RTB) and Radio Television Malaysia (RTM) jointly produced a programme under a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) called Eksplorasa 2.

The cooking show with a travelogue concept shares legends or myths surrounding a place and introduces village products, attractive locations and traditional cuisines of Brunei Darussalam and Malaysia.

Arsonist’s case adjourned

THE High Court Tuesday adjourned a case involving a local man who allegedly torched the Bangunan Halimatul Saadiah, Gadong in the wee hours of April 4, 2018.

Chief Justice Dato Paduka Steven Chong gave time to Haji Ahmad bin Haji Tamin’s defence counsel Rozaiman bin Abdul Rahman who sought to assess the case first.

Eight held in gambling bust

THE Royal Brunei Police Force (RBPF) nabbed seven men and a woman, aged between 33 and 55 years, for suspected gambling activities at a house in Kampong Tanah Jambu National Housing Scheme on Monday evening.

Acting on a public tip-off, the raid was conducted by the Gambling Suppression and Anti-Vice Unit with the House and Vehicle Theft Unit of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID), RBPF.
