Man pleads guilty to using counterfeit money

THE Intermediate Court has fixed October 22 for the sentencing of a 37-year-old local man who recently pleaded guilty to using counterfeit money at a petrol station.

The court was told that on May 17, Reziuan bin Haji Japar gave a BND100 note and four BND10 notes to a friend whose car was running low on fuel.

Filipino acquitted of police bribery charge

THE Magistrate’s Court recently acquitted a Filipino citizen from a charge of bribery, after the prosecution failed to prove its case against him.

Dennis Perez Tayag was charged of attempting to bribe a police constable of the Traffic Control and Investigation Department, Royal Brunei Police Force (RBPF), after being pulled over for running a red light at an intersection in Kampong Bengkurong Masin, on May 14, 2015.

TEN lucky winners were selected on Monday from more than 600 individuals who have signed up for the Setia Motors Mobile Application during the draw that took place at Setia Motors’ showroom.

The draw was made by the General Manager of Setia Motors James Lee in front of media representatives.

BSM orders immediate halt on selling of ‘unsatisfactory’ product at filling station

FOLLOWING a viral message on social media, Brunei Shell Marketing Company Sdn Bhd (BSM) carried out an inspection and found one of the tanks of Masjory Filling Station in Sengkurong contained products that are of unsatisfactory quality.

According to a statement issued yesterday, BSM has ordered an immediate halt to the sale of RON97 fuel from the affected tank to ensure that the quality of the products for sale meets the standard of Shell.
