RTB receives 21 Japanese TV programmes

JAPAN Media Communication Centre (JAMCO), a non-profit television promotion organisation from Japan Monday handed over 21 Japanese TV programmes on the promotion of disaster prevention, environmental awareness and documentaries to state broadcaster Radio Television Brunei (RTB).

In a ceremony held at the RTB Complex in the capital to signify the occasion Monday, Ambassador of Japan to Brunei Darussalam, Motohiko Kato handed over the TV programmes to the Director of RTB, Haji Muhammad Suffian bin Haji Bungsu.

THE Korea Programme of the 2018 ASEAN-Korea Youth Network Workshop recently concluded with a closing ceremony.

The workshop carries the theme of ‘ASEAN and Korean Youth as Drivers of Global Digitalization’ and has been organised by the ASEAN-Korea Centre to take place in Korea on July 2-6 and the Philippines on July 7-11.

THE Royal Brunei Police Force are currently seeking public assistance in providing information on the whereabouts of two women and a man.

Indonesian woman, Leni Marlina, 29, was reported to have run away from her employer and the public with information may contact the Tutong Police Station at 4221206.

BRUNEI four-wheelers recently attended the National Pajero Sport Family Jamboree 2018 in Palembang, Indonesia, where they joined over 1,500 others from Indonesia and Sabah, Malaysia.

The Brunei delegation comprised President of Tutong District Four-Wheel Association, Sha’ari bin Haji Zunaidi, and President of Brunei Pajero Sport Community, Mohd Khairul Anwar bin Haji Mazim and several members of Tutong District Four-Wheel Association and Brunei Pajero Sport Community.

Fire fully destroys two houses, damages another

A FAULTY capacitor of a window air-condition unit was believed to be the cause of a fire that destroyed two houses and damaged another at Simpang 645, Kampong Sungai Besar, Jalan Kota Batu on Friday night.

According to the Fire and Rescue Department (FRD), an emergency call was received at 7.24pm and 20 firefighters with five fire engines from Mentiri Fire Station with support from Bandar Seri Begawan Fire Station, Beribi Fire Station and Berakas Fire Station rushed to the scene of the blaze.
