LIVESTOCK producers in the country should continue expanding their production – to fulfil the needs of the local market and for exports, create more jobs and make a bigger contribution to the country’s GDP growth, according to the Minister of Primary Resources and Tourism Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Ali bin Haji Apong.

ACCORDING to Hirman bin Haji Abu, the Head of Crop Industry Division at the Department of Agriculture and Agrifood, those interested in hi-tech contract farming will be provided with a hectare of land as a start-up.

“What’s more, farmers won’t have to worry about a sales market, since they are given the assurance that Syarikat Gropoint will purchase their products,” he told the Bulletin.

Hua Ho closes 21-year-old branch at Yayasan Complex

HUA HO Department Store closed its doors for the last time at the Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah (Yayasan) Complex Sunday after 21 years of service.

The cease of operations occurred in two phases: the closure of the second floor on January 1, with Sunday being the last day of activities for the first floor and the ground floor of the supermarket.
