Local director attends Asian Film Week (2019)

FRESH from winning the Special Jury Award at the ASEAN International Film Festival and Awards in Kuching, Sarawak for Hari Minggu Yang Ke-Empat, local film director, Siti Kamaluddin was invited to Beijing for the Asian Film Week from May 14–19.

As part of the Asian Film Week, China is hosting a Conference on Dialogue of Asian Civilisations. The event is expected to welcome over 2,000 delegates from 47 Asian countries. The conference aims to discuss exchanges and mutual learning among Asian civilisations as a community with a shared future.

Thai resort dream trip turns nightmare for Brunei’s tourists (2019)

A LOCAL woman’s recent holiday trip to the seaside resort of Hua Hin in Thailand turned nightmarish when she was accused of working as an illegal tour guide by the Thai Tourist Police.

She shared the details of her bizarre and frightening ordeal on Facebook, saying, “We had organised a family tour to Hua Hin, to celebrate our uncle’s 62nd birthday.

“AVOID being a leader who is always enclosed in his office, and who is unapproachable and aloof. In addition, avoid refusing to hear the views of your officers and subordinates, and being close-minded (menegakkan benang yang basah) during meetings with them,” Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) Dato Seri Setia Haji Awang Abdul Mokti bin Haji Mohd Daud told government officials.

Thailand delegation visits UBD CARe, tours Brunei (2019)

A DELEGATION comprising 18 members from Thammasat University, Thailand paid an educational visit to the Universiti Brunei Darussalam (UBD) Centre for Advanced Research (CARe) recently.

The trip was arranged by local tour agency Grace Travel.
