SEVERAL activities to mark the 50th Anniversary of the Gema Dari Menara (GDM) film have been lined up for October, said Senior Special Duties Officer of the Secretariat Office at the MIB Supreme Council and organising committee member and historian Dr Haji Mohd Hadi bin Md Melayong.

He made the announcement during a press conference to announce the 50th Anniversary Celebration of the film at Regal Blues Studio, Kampong Sungai Hanching on Thursday.

Joint operation foils smuggling attempt

AN ATTEMPT to smuggle contraband was thwarted during the Tiga Serangkai Operation by law enforcement agencies headed by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) in collaboration with the Marine Police, Royal Brunei Police Force (RBPF) and the Sea/Land Operations Unit of the Royal Customs and Excise Department on Tuesday night.

Thumbs up for Lawas ferry service

THE Kuala Lawas ferry service, in operation since 2014, received encouraging response from travellers, especially from Brunei.

Lawas residents and Brunei travellers to Sabah gave a thumbs–up for the service for cutting the travelling distance between the village and other destinations by two thirds resulting in substantial fuel savings for the people to the borders of Lawas (Merapok Control Post) and Sindumin in Sabah.

HIS Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam arrived in Denpasar, Bali, the Republic of Indonesia on Wednesday for the ASEAN Leaders’ gathering.
