Students learn about local herbs, plants (2019)




A total of 53 pre-schoolers and Year 1 students as well as eight teachers of Delima Satu Primary School made an educational visit to the Rimba Garden Central (RGC) in Rimba, Gadong recently.

The delegation was headed by teacher Halizah binti Aliakbar. They were welcomed by the Head of RGC who briefed them on RGC’s roles and functions as well as the fun activities on the day.

Registration opens for photography competition (2019)

The Brunei Photography Association invites the public to participate in a photography competition in conjunction with the association’s 50th anniversary.

The competition is divided into two categories. Category ‘A’ is an Open category while Category ‘B’ is for members of the association.

Man survives crocodile attack (06.10.2019)

A 37-year-old Bangladeshi man, attacked by a crocodile in the vicinity of Kampong Pandan, Kuala Belait, is recovering in hospital.

According to personnel of the Kuala Belait Police Station, who received a report of the attack at 10.40am last Saturday, the victim was cutting grass near a drainage canal in Kampong Pandan, when the crocodile suddenly lunged out of the water and tried to drag him.

Raising awareness on importance of town planning (2019)



Legislative Council (LegCo) member Yang Berhormat Khairunnisa binti Haji Ash’ari at the roadshow.



The Department of Town and Country Planning held a Development Planning and Control Roadshow for the Belait District at the Municipal Hall, Kuala Belait last Saturday.

Commissioner for Town and Country Planning Shahrom bin Haji Suhaimi was the roadshow’s chairman.

First Farmer’s Market event a roaring success (2019)

Brunei-based Agritech start-up Agrome IQ International Sdn Bhd hosted its first Farmer’s Market event where local farmers and food vendors sold their produce and products.

Minister of Primary Resources and Tourism Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Ali bin Haji Apong was present. Agrome launched their farmbox which is a basket consisting of 100 per cent local and fresh produce that customers can order for weekly delivery or pickup.
