Brunei to compete in Kuching Dragon Boat Race

THE Lela Cheteria boat race team from Brunei will participate in the International Dragon Boat Race to be held in Kuching, Sarawak in conjunction with the annual Kuching Waterfront Festival and Sarawak Regatta from October 26 to November 4. The team will leave for Kuching on October 24.

Thirty teams from 12 countries including Brunei, Malaysia, Indonesia and Thailand will compete this year compared to only 10 countries participating last year.

Nine individuals, five companies fined for littering

NINE individuals and five companies were issued compound fines by the Law Enforcement Division of the Bandar Seri Begawan (BSB) Municipal Department for disposing rubbish in public areas, during the Bersih operation in Serusop on Wednesday.

THE World Mental Health Day 2018 was launched at the Al-‘Afiah Hall, Ministry of Health yesterday.

The guest of honour was Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Health Haji Abdul Manap bin Othman.

Also present were event co-chairperson and Psychologist Officer (Public Health) at the Health Promotion Centre Nor Syahmun binti Haji Matassan, heads of departments, senior officers, teachers, youth and students.

SIXTY-THREE per cent out of 206 participants of a survey conducted by Mental Health Initiative and Drive (MhIND) Project have said that they do not know where to seek help or assistance for mental health issues in Brunei Darussalam, according to MhIND Project co-leader Danial Mahadi.
