Bruneian students in Cairo safe, says MoRA (2019)

NO Bruneian students were affected by a suicide bombing at the Darb Al-Ahmar area near the Al-Azhar Mosque in Cairo on Monday, the Ministry of Religious Affairs (MoRA) confirmed.

According to foreign news reports, three Egyptian police officers were killed in the attack, which also wounded two other policemen and one woman.

Warder jailed for taking bribe (2019)

A PRISON warder was sentenced to 18 months’ imprisonment on Wednesday, for letting a prisoner use his personal phone in exchange for a reward.

Warder 543 Norizam bin Hidup was convicted after trial on the charge of receiving a bribe of BND295.62 from the family of an imprisoned Sri Lankan national, as a reward for allowing the prisoner to use his mobile phone and communicate with another person outside the prison, in 2015.
