Judiciary couple’s case adjourned to October 24 (2019)

Before the prosecution could produce their last witness, the trial against Ramzidah binti Pehin Datu Kesuma Diraja Colonel (Rtd) Haji Abdul Rahman and Haji Nabil Daraina bin Pehin Udana Khatib Dato Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Haji Awang Badaruddin experienced a hiccup.

The prosecution’s last witness, a Malaysian woman, was not available in court to give evidence on Thursday.

Wildfire destroys 10 hectares in Seria (2019)

A wildfire destroyed 10 hectares of government land at the Seria Water Treatment Plant, blanketing the area in thick smoke on Thursday.

After receiving an alert at around 1.33pm, a team of 10 firefighters and two fire engines from Seria Fire Station led by Station Officer Ajak bin Haji Jais managed to control the blaze.

Burglar jailed 10 years for series of break-ins at VIP homes (2019)

A 27-year-old Malaysian man was sentenced to 10 years’ imprisonment and six strokes of the cane on Thursday, after he pleaded guilty in the High Court to a series of notorious break-ins.

From January to August, Ferry Pengiran committed the offences on 17 instances when he broke into homes belonging to VIPs, embassies and diplomatic residences in the areas along Jalan Muara, Jalan Tanjung Bunut Kanan, Kampong Selayun Jerudong, Manggis 1, Jalan Muara Salambigar, Kampong Beribi, Kampong Selayun Sengkurong B, Jalan Tungku Link Pengkalan Gadong, Kampong Tanah Jambu, Jalan Muara, Tungku Link Highway, Simpang Seri Alam Jangsak, Jalan Kiarong, Jalan Lebuhraya Tungku Gadong and Jalan Tungku.
