THE Criminal Justice Division of the Attorney General’s Chambers (AGC) has successfully organised an orientation session for law enforcement officers, focussing on how they can be effective in giving evidence in court.

HIS Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, Thursday afternoon presented Letters of Credence to Brunei Darussalam’s newly appointed ambassadors and received Letters of Credence from the newly appointed envoys to Brunei Darussalam.

IN AN effort to facilitate tax administration in Brunei Darussalam, the Revenue Division at the Ministry of Finance (MoF) has issued two new public rulings – Public Ruling No 5/2017 (Keeping of Books of Account) and Public Ruling No 6/2017 (Payment and Refund of Income Tax).

To share information on the new public income tax rulings and as part of a continuous effort to improve the business environment in the country, the Revenue Division held a briefing yesterday at the Ministry of Finance building.

Asean Secretary-General meets Singapore Prime Minister

THE Secretary-General of Asean, Dato Paduka Lim Jock Hoi, paid a courtesy call on Singapore Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong at the Istana in Singapore on Tuesday.

According to a news item on Asean.org, Prime Minister Lee reaffirmed Singapore’s commitment to Asean as well as support for the Asean Secretary-General and the Asean Secretariat. The secretary-general expressed readiness to support Singapore as Asean Chair 2018.
