MEMBERS of the diplomatic corps in Brunei Darussalam took part in a cleaning campaign at the Brunei River and Kampong Ayer Sunday to mark Earth Day 2018 and in support of an initiative to expose the problem of indiscriminate dumping of rubbish in the seas and rivers spearheaded by the Ministry of Development, Ministry of Home Affairs, and Ministry of Health.

THREE cabinet ministers led a clean-up of the Brunei River and Kampong Ayer Sunday morning, in celebration of Earth Day 2018.

The campaign was officially launched at the Taman Mahkota Jubli Emas by Minister of Home Affairs Pehin Orang Kaya Seri Kerna Dato Seri Setia (Dr) Haji Awang Abu Bakar bin Haji Apong; Minister of Health Dato Paduka Dr Haji Mohd Isham bin Jaafar; and Minister of Development Dato Seri Paduka Awang Haji Suhaimi bin Haji Gafar, who also boarded a boat to take part in the clean-up efforts along the Brunei River.

IT WAS an exciting show of strength at the Armwrestling Competition Brunei, held over the weekend during the ‘Get Active with Annajat’ event at Annajat Complex.

Mohd Nizar Yusof (from Selangor, Malaysia), Joffey Jolly (Labuan) and Jolly Johnson (Labuan) were crowned winners of three categories: ‘Left-handed’, ‘Right-handed below 75kg’, and ‘Right-handed above 75kg’.
