Dark park, littering irk visitors (2020)

Visitors to Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Silver Jubilee Park are raising concern of the park being too dark when the sun goes down.

Families with children are often seen at the park around 5.30pm but they go home before the sun is down because the park becomes too dark at night. Those going to the park to relax and unwind after work also feel the same.

In The Courts (2020): Multiple thefts from same house land man in jail

The Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday handed a 11 month jail term to a local man for the charges of theft at a residence.

DPP Ahmad Firdaus bin Mohammad’s facts of the case revealed that Muhammad Jasnie bin Sainie, 25, first struck a house at Jalan Parak, RPN Panaga sometime between April and May where he stole a Bluetooth speaker and two mobile phones.

COVID-19 Brunei: Self-isolation violator slapped with BND500 fine (2020)

An individual has been fined BND500 for violating mandatory self-isolation at a hotel accommodation in the capital.

The breach was discovered by officers from the Ministry of Health’s (MoH) Health Enforcement Unit during Special Ops Merati (Operasi Merati Khas) carried out on quarantine facilities provided by the government recently.

COVID-19 Brunei: Brunei continues zero-case streak (as of 27.07.2020)

Brunei Darussalam on Sunday continued its streak of no new COVID-19 cases, keeping its national tally of confirmed cases at 141.

This was shared by the Ministry of Health (MoH) in its daily press statement on the developments of the pandemic in the country.

Baiduri Bank, Brunei’s largest conventional bank, on Sunday announced an expansion of the CEO Office organisational structure with dual Deputy Chief Executive Officer positions. The expansion comes with the appointment of Manuel Bulens to the newly created position of Deputy Chief Executive Officer of Compliance and Corporate Governance while Pengiran Azaleen bin Pengiran Dato Haji Mustapha will hold the position of Deputy Chief Executive Officer of Business Development.
