THE Ministry of Communications (MinCom) hosted a ‘Procurement and Integrity’ briefing yesterday, to ensure sincerity, efficiency and accountability for all departmental projects under the Brunei Government.
The guest of honour was Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Mustappa bin Haji Sirat, the Minister of Communications.
Also present were Haji Azhar bin Haji Ahmad, the Permanent Secretary at the MinCom, and Dr Haji Supry bin Haji Awang Ladi, the Acting Deputy Permanent Secretary at the MinCom.
The event began with a recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah and Doa, led by Haji Azrol Alim bin Haji Zaini, an officer from the Mosque Affairs Department.
A welcoming address was delivered by Haji Abdul Ghani bin Haji Othman, the Acting Director of Administration and Services at the Ministry of Communications and chairman of the event.

The briefing opened with a presentation by Nurul Izzah binti Haji Abdul Kahar, the Acting Secretary at the State Tender Board, followed with a presentation by Mohamad Firdaus bin Abdullah Chong, the Acting Assistant Director at the Anti-Corruption Bureau.
The briefing was a ‘refresher course’ programme on Financial Regulations and Integrity, and it will continue for the duration of the year.
It is also hoped to generate a sense of awareness on the harmful aspects of corruption among officers and staff at the Ministry of Communications, while motivating them to render services with commitment and a high degree of integrity.
