SIX Institute of Brunei Technical Education (IBTE) students participated in the 12th ASEAN Skills Competition at IMPACT, Muang Thong Thani Bangkok, Thailand from August 30 to September 4.

Mohammad Ifwat Dini Al Hakeem Abdullah from IBTE won two medals – ‘Best of Nation’ and ‘Medallion of Excellence’ – in the cooking skills competition.

The biannual competition is the largest professional education event in Southeast Asia.

Competing over real work challenges, competitors from 10 ASEAN member countries performed specific tasks for each of the professional skills. The event also provided contact and exchange of information on best practices in professional education among industry leaders, governments and education experts.

The experience and the results of the competition provided valuable feedback to the competitors, their countries, businesses, and schools.
