CID impersonator remanded as probe continues

THE Magistrate’s Court on Thursday ordered for further investigations into an impersonation case, and for the remand of the local man who was named suspect.

DPP Dayangku Didi binti Pengiran Latiff drafted charges against Abdullah Muhammad Sham Khairunnas bin Abdul Wahab, 23, alleging him firstly of impersonating a Criminal Investigation Department (CID) police officer to cheat a foreign man into paying BND100 as a fine for not wearing a seatbelt while driving at Jalan Pasir Berakas at 10am on October 2, 2018. The defendant also cheated another foreigner to pay BND130 as a fine for not wearing a seatbelt while driving at Jalan Pasir Berakas at 12.50pm on October 3, 2018.

Magistrate Hajah Ervy Sufitriana binti Haji Abdul Rahman adjourned the case to October 15, 2018. The charges carry penalties of a maximum jail term of seven years and fines.
