THE Public Prosecutor on Wednesday pressed more charges against a 23-year-old local man in an impersonation case.
On behalf of the Public Prosecutor, DPP Dayangku Didi binti Pengiran Latiff drafted six more charges against Abdullah Muhammad Sham Khairunnas bin Abdul Wahab.
He is firstly alleged to have misappropriated a Polis 134 Conference Book at Kampong Mata-Mata sometime between July 10 and October 1.
A second charge alleges him of forging five pieces of a police report on a ‘Misplaced/Damaged/Missing/Burnt/Stolen’ item, bearing the Royal Brunei Police Force (RBPF) emblem, while at the Berakas Police Station sometime between September 1 and October 1; and one piece of the ‘Statement of Offences under the Personal Royal Family Members, 1955’, bearing the RBPF emblem.
The third charge alleges the defendant of forging eight pieces of the ‘Offer To Compound An Offence Under The Road Traffic Act, 1954’, bearing the RBPF emblem on September 27, with the intention of passing it off as genuine in order to deceive others.
The fourth charge alleges the defendant of impersonating a CID police officer at Jalan Pasir Berakas on October 1, for the purpose of cheating a foreign man into paying BND100 as a fine for not wearing a seatbelt while driving.
The fifth charge alleges the defendant of forging 15 pieces of the ‘Official Receipt’ bearing the RBPF emblem, at a house in Jalan Nanas Sanggul, STKRJ Kampong Katok ‘B’, on October 1.
On the sixth count, the defendant allegedly cheated another foreign man into paying BND50 as a fine for not wearing a seatbelt, at 10am on October 2, at Kampong Delima Satu, Berakas.
On the seventh count, the defendant allegedly cheated another foreign man into paying BND100 as a fine for not wearing a seatbelt while driving, at 10am on October 2, at Jalan Pasir Berakas
The eighth count alleges the defendant of having cheated a yet another foreign citizen into paying BND130 as a fine for not wearing a seatbelt while driving, at 12.50pm on October 3, at Jalan Pasir Berakas,
Magistrate Hajah Ervy Sufitriana binti Haji Abdul Rahman has remitted the case to the Intermediate Court and adjourned it to October 27, while ordering the defendant to be remanded at Jerudong Prison.
