THE Ministry of Health (MoH) on Friday said investigations were on after four Royal Brunei Air Force personnel reportedly fell ill after consuming bottled water manufactured by a local company, suspected to be contaminated.
No further details were disclosed by the MoH.
The Weekend Bulletin understood that food safety and quality officials from the MoH along with the Department of Agriculture and Agrifood conducted an inspection at the premises of the bottled water processing plant in Kampong Mulaut on Friday and took samples from the bottled water to conduct further tests.
The investigation is being categorised under food poisoning while action was also taken based on complaints of an odd odour emanating from the bottled water and reportedly unhygienic conditions of the processing plant.
It is not immediately clear when the outcome of the tests will be announced.
The Air Force personnel who consumed the bottled water on Thursday reported of throat and stomach pains and were referred to the armed forces’ Medical Reception Station (MRS).
