ACTING Director of Culture and Arts Haji Mohd Abdoh bin Haji Damit was highly taken up by the artists’ creations.
“It is interesting to see that the youth are interested in this industry and displaying quality work. I believe the exhibits have high commercial value which can be compared to work of artists from developed countries.
“This is a very positive development which in the future can contribute to the country’s economic growth,” he said.
“The Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports is aware of the importance and progress of local involvement in the creative industry.
“The ‘Kami Urang Brunei’ exhibition which showcases local cartoonists’ creativity is a good example.”
The Acting Director of Culture and Arts said as mentioned by the minister during the Legislative Council session this year, one of the main focusses of the ministry is to build capabilities and give youth opportunities to be actively involved in the nation’s development.
Some of the activities catering the youth and artists are Malam Minggu Pusat Belia and the art gallery exhibition, he said.
He also expressed that the ministry welcomes local artists to be actively involved in the creative industry and hoped that artists can come up with stories that can make the country proud.
