THE Brunei December Festival 2019 is back again at the end of this year following the success of last year’s event, which drew more than 173,000 local and international visitors and featured a total of 60 activities and events throughout the country.
The success of last year’s Brunei December Festival was highlighted by Deputy Permanent Secretary (Tourism) at the Ministry of Primary Resources and Tourism cum Secretary of the Brunei Tourism Board, Wardi bin Haji Mohammad Ali during the Brunei December Festival 2019 press conference at Setia Pahlawan Hall, Ministry of Primary Resources and Tourism.
“The Brunei December Festival also coincides with the annual Brunei Salebration to encourage local residents to spend in the country, which will spur the domestic economy and increase business opportunities for SMEs,” he added.
“Every store nationwide will have a variety of products with attractive offers and discounts during the period.”
The press conference was attended by three members of the Legislative Council – Yang Berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya Pendikar Alam Dato Paduka Seri Haji Hasrin bin Dato Paduka Haji Sabtu, Yang Berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya Putera Maharaja Dato Paduka Haji Abdul Ghani bin Pehin Datu Pekerma Dewa Dato Paduka Haji Abdul Rahim, and Yang Berhormat Haji Mohimin bin Haji Johari @ Jahari – as well as mukim penghulus, village heads, local travel agents, local hoteliers and representatives of the festival organisers.
Brunei December Festival, which is being held for the third consecutive year and will feature events and activities suitable for people of all ages, aims to attract local residents to travel within the country, stimulate the growth of domestic tourism, and encourage international visitors to choose Brunei as one of their preferred holiday destinations.
