OFFICERS of the Marine Police of the Royal Brunei Police Force (RBPF) foiled an attempt to smuggle undeclared meat products into the country through the waters of Sungai Bunga on Friday.
The smuggling attempt was discovered during an operation conducted by Marine Police personnel who spotted a suspicious looking boat heading towards Kuala Menunggol that made a quick turn towards Sungai Bunga and left the area on noticing Police presence.
The boat was later found stranded and unattended around Sungai Bunga.
Officers on inspection found plastic bags containing undeclared meat believed to be smuggled into the country from the border across Malaysia.
The boat and the contraband were confiscated and handed over to the Halal Food Control Section for further investigation and action.
