Local man in Temburong theft case to learn fate soon (2019)

The Intermediate Court is due to sentence a local man who pleaded guilty to theft, while his alleged accomplices claimed innocence.

Judge Muhammed Faisal bin Pehin Dato Haji Kefli has fixed August 20 as the date of sentencing for Ampuan Abdul Razaini Zikri bin Ampuan Abdul Rahman, 29, who admitted to the theft of tools from Sultan Hassan Primary School in Bangar, Temburong, at night on December 30-31, 2018.

He also stole a laptop and sports shirts from Pengiran Muda Mohamed Bolkiah Religious School in Temburong, on November 17-19. Ampuan Abdul Razaini Zikri also pleaded guilty to house-trespassing for committing the theft of a television set, projector, laptop and broadcast receiver from a residence at Kampong Sungai Radang, Selapon in Batu Apoi, between December 26, 2018 and January 6, 2019.

Azimi bin Haji Mohamed, 42, denied the same charge, while Amaran @ Muhammad NazirulIz’an bin Mayasin, 43, denied having retained the stolen tools from Sultan Hassan Primary School at a house in Kampong Buda-Buda, Temburong, on January 3.
