Proud day for 278 RBAF recruits (2019)

A total of 221 male recruits of the 164th intake and 57 female recruits of the 55th intake of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF) concluded their basic military training with a passing out parade at the Training Institute RBAF (TI RBAF) in Penanjong Garrison, Tutong District.

The male recruits underwent basic military training for 31 weeks, while the female recruits underwent training for 21 weeks.

Guest of honour Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Dato Paduka Haji Mohammed Nor bin Haji Jeludin inspected the parade and presented the awards to instructors and recruits who performed exceptionally well throughout the training.

In a speech, Dato Paduka Haji Mohammed Nor highlighted the RBAF’s crucial role in sustaining peace, security and stability of the nation by ensuring that the country’s diplomatic policies can be implemented effectively and efficiently.

“Skilled, efficient and professional personnel are crucial to ensure that RBAF can carry out this responsibility,” he said, adding that this will allow us to face today’s challenges and threats better.

The award recipients for male recruits went to 17731 Sergeant (U) Mohd Ismasharil bin Haji Ismail for Best Platoon Sergeant; 19701 Corporal (U) Muhammad Asri bin Haji Mahari for Best Male Instructor; 52997 Recruit Mohammad Marzuq Hafizamudin bin Maarof for Best Overall Recruit; 53152 Recruit (L) Muhammad Rafiyaddin bin Haji Rosman for Best in Small Arms; 53142 Recruit (L) Muhammad Zharfan bin Zohar for Best in Physical Training; and 52970 Recruit Muhd Haziq Saufee @ Sukri bin Haji Asli for Best Military Skills.

The female recruit award recipients were 21216 Sergeant Norbaya binti Haji Abdul Hadi for Best Platoon Sergeant; 21424 Corporal Sahnizan binti Haji Matsah for Best Female Instructor; 22072 Recruit Nurmasrinah @ Didik Adi-nah binti Maslan for Best Overall Recruit; 22047 Recruit (L) Asrianna Habriyah binti Abdullah Azrin for Best in M16A2 Rifle; 22065 Recruit Nur Amani ’Akmal Amalina binti Kamis for Best in Physical Training; and 22047 Recruit (L) Asrianna Habriyah for Best Military Skills.

Commander of the RBAF Major General Pengiran Dato Paduka Seri Aminan bin Pengiran Haji Mahmud; service commanders, directors, deputy service commanders, commandants, senior officers, officers, personnel of the RBAF as well as the families and friends of the recruits were also present.
