UK-based Nisai Group launches Asian regional hub in Brunei (2019)

THE high standards of education system in Brunei has attracted a UK-based education centre, Nisai Group, to establish its Asian regional hub in the Sultanate.

With the objective of meeting the United Nations (UN) Sustainable Development Goals for 2030, the international education centre in Brunei Darussalam will use the power of education to address all 17 of the Sustainable Development Goals.

CEO of Nisai Group Dhruv Patel said, “What first attracted me the most to establish the regional hub in Brunei Darussalam was the high standard of proficiency of the Bruneians in English Language and the country’s education system is based on the UK educational system. We look forward to this new venture with PTB.”

Pengiran Hishamuddin Alli bin Pengiran Jaya Indera Pengiran Haji Mokhtar Puteh, Founder of Syarikat Pakar Tenaga Bersatu (PTB), said, “In the era of the Industrial Revolution 4.0, the education and learning system needs to evolve in order to meet the requirements of future learners. With Nisai’s Virtual Learning System, we believe that this is what is needed to propel us into the Age of Digital Revolution truly and fully.” Delivery of the services from the Asia Regional Hub is expected to commence by early 2020.

Acting British High Commissioner to Brunei Darussalam Natalie Gowers-Barnes said, “We are delighted and proud about Nisai Group’s partnership with PTB and they have chosen Brunei as their regional hub to deliver quality education services for Asia. The high quality of UK education sector, encompassing universities, colleges, schools, education technology companies and a host of other providers, is recognised globally”.

Nisai Group also announced the appointment of a female Bruneian professional, Hajah Normawati @ Mawar binti Dato Paduka Haji Othman as Regional Director to head the Asia Regional Hub. Online education programmes they offer include functional skills in English Language and Mathematics as well as Cambridge-accredited IGCSEs and A Levels.
