The Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday ordered two Indonesian men to settle fines of BND1,500 each, or serve a month’s imprisonment in default, after they pleaded guilty to trespassing with the intention to cause annoyance.
Prosecutor ‘Adzimah binti Salleh informed Magistrate Kamaliah Fadhilah binti Haji Ibrahim that Marwanto, 39, and Iko Pradana, 22, had parked their car at the Royal Brunei Polo and Riding Club in Jerudong at 7am on September 8, to go fishing in a nearby river. Shortly afterwards, they spotted a house in the vicinity.
Armed with a flashlight and scraping tools, they both went inside to collect birds’ nests.
A patrolling security guard came across their car and informed his colleagues. Three of the security guards searched the area and entered the house, where they found the defendants and detained them.
