His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam made unscheduled visits to two departments under the Ministry of Home Affairs (MoHA) – Immigration and National Registration Department (INRD) and the Labour Department on Tuesday.
Upon arrival at the INRD building in Jalan Menteri Besar, His Majesty was greeted by Minister of Home Affairs Pehin Orang Kaya Seri Kerna Dato Seri Setia (Dr) Haji Awang Abu Bakar bin Haji Apong and Acting Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office and Minister of Finance and Economy II Dato Seri Paduka Awang Haji Ahmaddin bin Haji Abdul Rahman.
During the visit, His Majesty visited several sections of the headquarters.
His Majesty also visited the Visa, Visit and Diplomatic Section, Policy and International Affairs Section, Foreign Work Pass Section, Entry Permit Section, Research, Development and Computer Section, Administration and Finance Section, Nationality Section, and Enforcement Section.
His Majesty talked to officers and staff and consented to take photos with members of the public.

From the INRD, His Majesty proceeded to the Labour Department headquarters where His Majesty was greeted by Acting Commissioner of Labour Mohd Saufi bin Haji Ibrahim.
The Labour Department is entrusted as the regulator of foreign labour through the issuance of licenses for foreign workers and support for work permit in addition to acting as a facilitator to local jobseekers to be channeled to the private sector.
His Majesty was greeted by surprised members of the public at the department.
His Majesty first visited counters on the ground floor before proceeding to the the department’s Labour Standard and Employment Agency Division, the Workplace, Safety and Health Division and Finance Unit on the first floor and units under the Foreign Worker Recruitment Division namely Foreign Worker License Unit and Domestic Services Unit as well as the Labour Enforcement Division.
His Majesty later walked back to the INRD headquarters for a get-together with officers and staff from both departments where His Majesty delivered a titah to the officers and staff of both departments.
