Couple faces charge in alleged theft (2019)

A viral video showing a couple asking security guards for help recently surfaced in court, where the couple faces a charge of theft.

Deputy Public Prosecutor Hajah Siti Mu’izzah binti Haji Sabli produced Muhammad Rasman bin Mat Noor, 35, and Kamrinah binti Haji Kamis, 36, before Senior Magistrate Hajah Azrimah binti Haji Abdul Rahman again, to face six more related charges on Thursday.

Both face seven charges of stealing eight units of Leoch 150W 12V batteries belonging to Progresif Cellular Sdn Bhd (PCSB).

Muhammad Rasman was separately charged with causing damage to the cabinet of the PCSB tower at Kampong Lugu on November 3.

They are also alleged to have stolen eight units of Shoto 100W 12V batteries belonging to PCSB, with Muhammad Rasman being separately charged of causing damage to the cabinet of the PCSB Tower on October 28.

The defendants are purported to have stolen 15 parts from a steel fence belonging to the Brunei government, in the water tank area of RPN Kampong Tanah Jambu ‘B’, sometime last October.

Muhammad Rasman faces a separate charge of damaging the property. He also faces a charge of stealing cables belonging to PCSB, from the PCSB tower in Kampong Lugu on March 2.

The court adjourned the case for further investigation, and fixed November 21 for further mention. The viral video shows the couple about to depart from the tower area in Kampong Lugu with a locked car bonnet and asking security guards on a routine patrol to assist with their stuck vehicle.
