Institute of Brunei Technical Education (IBTE) Sultan Bolkiah Campus (SBC), Seria held its Market Day programme on Wednesday, for jobseekers to learn more about job opportunities. A total of 459 job-seekers attended the event.
The event allowed the participating companies to scout for employees, smoothening the graduate to employee transition. IBTE Satellite Campus Principal Norjemee bin Jenek thanked the participating companies for their support.
“The objective of the IBTE Market Day is to bridge the gap between companies and graduates, providing IBTE graduates the convenience of applying for jobs relevant to their area of specialisation,” he said.
He also highlighted how the programme aims to tackle the issue of high unemployment among youth.
“I urge our students and graduates to make full use of this opportunity today as a gateway to building your future careers, and I wish you the best of luck,” he said.
The principal later presented certificates to representatives of the participating companies, which included Sim Darby Industrial, Western Food Packaging, A-Conkleen, Hengyi Industries, Muara Maritime Services, Serikandi Oilfield Services, Besmindo, PY Oiltools, Adinin Works and Engineering, Petrokon Utama and V-Plaza Hotel.
