International School Brunei (ISB) in the Belait District will relocate its school and operations to Seria in 2020.
The new location at F19 in Seria, was granted by Brunei Shell Petroleum Co Sdn Bhd (BSP) through a formalised agreement between BSP and ISB on June 19.
With a maximum capacity of over 240 students, the new campus will have larger classrooms and an outdoor learning area for the Early Year Foundation Stage (EYFS) children, in addition to tarmacked routes and a large playing area.
The new campus will also have a dedicated library, music room, prayer room, and a large sports field for physical education lessons.
The school also has full access to facilities at the Brunei Shell Recreation Club (BSRC) for swimming lessons and extra-curricular activities.
The new location, which is closer to the sea, will allow the school to engage in frequent beach clean-ups.
Other green initiatives will also be conducted within the new school grounds in raising eco awareness. Head of School Yynda Thomas said, “ISB has a proven history in Brunei and the growth of our primary school in Seria is very exciting for the school community.
“As a non-selective, non-profit, inclusive school we are looking forward to ensuring that everyone excels on our new campus.”
Necessary work and preparations to bring the current site to operational readiness have commenced. The refurbished school is expected to be ready sometime by the school’s second term in 2020.
The public will be able to learn more about the new campus location and opportunities during a roadshow the KB school is hosting at SupaSave Seria on November 23-24.
