Four local men, including one uniformed personnel were apprehended by the Royal Brunei Police Force (RBPF) for their suspected involvement in nine theft cases at different locations in Tutong District.
According to Criminal Investigating Officer of Tutong Police Station ASP Shamsul Ariffin bin Haji Abd Wahab, the Tutong and Lamunin police stations nabbed the suspects.
All the suspects confessed to committing the thefts and selling the items, and using the proceeds for personal expenses, purchasing drugs and online gambling.
Mohamad Hafizul bin Ibrahim, 23, a uniformed personnel, Mohamad Faezunaidi bin Brahim, 19, Norazizulsyaah Bani bin Abdul Aziz, 22, and Mohamad Ezuzuan bin Kesah, 37, all unemployed, were charged in the Magistrate’s Court on Thursday.
The court ordered for their remand until November 26, pending sentencing.
RBPF advised the public to be vigilant with any cheap offers of goods, especially on social media and check the items before purchasing them as they might be stolen goods.
