Some 260 exhibitors comprising 150 booths from across ASEAN member countries and India will participate in the TRAVEX (Travel Exchange) 2020 on January 15 and 16 at BRIDEX Hall 2 as Brunei prepares to be the host nation for the 39th ASEAN Tourism Forum (ATF) 2020.
The booths offer visitors to shop for some of the best and latest travel and tourism products from across Southeast Asia.
A total of 838 delegates are expected to attend this year’s ATF in the Sultanate including Tourism Ministers and Official Meetings delegates from ASEAN member countries.
Meanwhile, 161 buyers from 43 countries or territories – Australia, Azerbaijan, Bangladesh, Brunei Darussalam, Bulgaria, Cambodia, Canada, China, Czech Republic, Estonia, France, Germany, Greece, Hong Kong SAR, India, Indonesia, Italy, Japan, Latvia, Lithuania, Macedonia, Malaysia, Mexico, Myanmar, Nepal, the Netherlands, Pakistan, the Philippines, Poland, Portugal, Russia, Singapore, Slovakia, South Korea, Spain, Sri Lanka, Switzerland, Thailand, Turkey, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), the United Kingdom (UK), the United States (US) and Vietnam are expected to attend the ATF Travex.
The largest number of buyers is from China (11 per cent), the Philippines (seven per cent), Singapore (six per cent), India (six per cent), Malaysia (five per cent), and Cambodia (four per cent).
Some 109 media personnel from 21 countries are expected to arrive in the country for the ATF Forum and Travex coverage. They are from Australia, Bahrain, Cambodia, China, Croatia, Czech Republic, Finland, India, Indonesia, Jordan, Malaysia, the Philippines, Poland, Russian Federation, Singapore, South Korea, Thailand, Turkey, the UK and Vietnam.
Among the type of exhibitors include airline companies, transportation, hotels, event organisers, tour operators, incentive organisers and the national tourist organisations.
Apart from the exhibition, participating nations will also host luncheons, dinner functions and other social networking activities for TRAVEX delegates and buyers. Attractive social events and post-show tours will also be available.
Brunei last hosted ATF and Travex 10 years ago in 2010. This year the forum carries the theme ‘ASEAN: Together Towards a Next Generation of Travel’. TRAVEX is only open to registered trade buyers and delegations.
