High-tea reception marks Crown Prince’s birthday (2020)


His Royal Highness Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah ibni His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah, the Crown Prince and Senior Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office cuts the birthday cake during a high-tea reception hosted by the RBAF and MinDef to celebrate His Royal Highness the Crown Prince’s 46th birthday. His Royal Highness Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah ibni His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah, the Crown Prince and Senior Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office, and Her Royal Highness Paduka Seri Pengiran Anak Isteri Pengiran Anak Sarah binti Pengiran Haji Salleh Ab Rahaman attended a high-tea reception hosted by the Ministry of Defence (MinDef) and the Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF) to mark the 46th birthday of His Royal Highness the Crown Prince at the Officers’ Mess, Bolkiah Garrison.

Accompanying His Royal Highness the Crown Prince and Her Royal Highness Paduka Seri Pengiran Anak Isteri Pengiran Anak Sarah was His Royal Highness Prince ‘Abdul Malik.

Upon arrival, Their Royal Highnesses and members of the royal family were greeted by Minister of Defence II Pehin Datu Lailaraja Major General (Rtd) Dato Paduka Seri Haji Awang Halbi bin Haji Mohd Yussof and Commander of the RBAF Major General Pengiran Dato Paduka Seri Aminan bin Pengiran Haji Mahmud.

During the reception, His Royal Highness interacted with Brunei Darussalam’s 15th International Monitoring Team (IMT) to Mindanao, Republic of the Philippines; the RBAF personnel embedded under the Malaysian Battalion 850-6 (MALBATT 850-6) for the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL); medal winners at the 26th ASEAN Armies Rifle Meet 2019 in Bandung, Republic of Indonesia; the RBAF Commendation Award recipient of the 9th RBAF Command and Staff Course 2019; the RBAF personnel who received awards of excellence while studying at Politeknik Brunei and IBTE; medal winners at the 2019 SEA Games in the Republic of Philippines; and newly commissioned officers who received awards of excellence during the recent Sovereign’s Parade Ceremony for the 18th intake of officer cadets of RBAF Officer Cadet School.

His Royal Highness was presented with a photobook album titled ‘Sejambak Ristaan XIII’, a photograph collection of His Royal Highness’ visits to MinDef and the RBAF. His Royal Highness later signed a commemorative parchment.

At the reception, His Royal Highness was also presented with a birthday cake and a pesambah from RBAF.

To bless the ceremony, a prayer was read by Head of the RBAF Religious Department Commander Haji Ainolnizam bin Haji Ibrahim of the Royal Brunei Navy (RBN).

At the end of the reception, Their Royal Highnesses and members of the royal family received Junjung Ziarah from all the officers and personnel attending the reception.
