The handing-over of Doa (supplication) cards to imams of Brunei Darussalam, in conjunction with the 36th National Day celebration, was held at the Jame’ ‘Asr Hassanil Bolkiah, Kamppong Kiarong yesterday. The content of the Doa card is a prayer to Allah the Almighty to safeguard the Sultanate from all diseases especially with the outbreak of COVID-19.
Guest of honour, Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office Dato Seri Setia Haji Awang Abdul Mokti bin Haji Mohd Daud presented the Doa cards to Acting Director of Mosque Affairs at the Ministry of Religious Affairs Haji Amir Hisham bin Haji Masri and Mosque Affairs officers.
The Doa is to be recited after obligatory prayers by congregants for citizens, residents and Muslims to be free from calamity and diseases. The Doa card is in support of the government’s initiative in containing issues relating to COVID-19.
During the event, Officer from Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Mosque Zulkifli bin Haji Murat recited the Doa and Selawat Syifa to protect the nation from diseases.
Deputy Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Religious Affairs Awang Haji Mohd Serudin bin Haji Timbang attended the event.
The printing of the Doa cards is coordinated by the Islamic Da’wah Centre and the Mosque Affairs Department and supported by Bank Islam Brunei Darussalam (BIBD).
