Water supply disruption (26.02.2020)

The Public Works Department (JKR) informed the public that several closures have been scheduled to allow replacement of valve measuring 300mm and 800mm at Tutong’s Bukit Barun water treatment plant of phase 4 & 5 as part of the upgrading works at the plant.

The upgrading project will affect nearby areas resulting in a reduction in clean water production and low water pressure especially areas in higher elevation.

The JKR will close some of the plants today from 9pm till 3am.

The areas affected are Kampong Batong, Kampong Wasan, Perpindahan Kampong Lugu, Kampong Kilanas, Kampong Telanai, Kampong Beribi, Perpindahan Kampong Katok B, Kampong Kiarong, whole of Bandar Seri Begawan, whole of Kampong Ayer, Kampong Subok, Kampong Lumapas, Kampong Tungku 1 and Kampong Tungku 2.

Other areas include Perpindahan Kampong Rimba, His Majesty the Sultan’s Flight, Royal Brunei Air Force Base in Rimba, Universiti Brunei Darussalam, The Empire Brunei, Jalan Berakas, Berakas Kem, STKRJ Kampong Lambak Kiri, Perpindahan Kampong Lambak Kanan, Kampong Dadap, Kampong Jangsak, Kampong Mata-Mata, Kampong Menglait, Batu Bersurat, Gadong commercial complex, Kumbang Pasang, Airport Mall area, Kampong Burong Pingai Berakas, Old Airport area, Kampong Anggerek Desa, Kampong Pulaie, Kampong Pancha Delima, Serusop commercial area, Diplomatic enclave, Kampong Sungai Akar, Kampong Sungai Hanching, Kampong Belimbing, Kampong Sungai Tilong, Kampong Salambigar and its surrounding areas.

The JKR requested the cooperation of all to save water. The public can contact Darussalam Line 123 for the supply of clean water through tankers or any complaints regarding clean water supply.
