Malaysian Foreign Minister Dato’ Seri Hishammuddin Tun Hussein thanked Brunei Darussalam for contributing COVID-19 test kits to Malaysia.
In a message on social media, Dato’ Seri Hishamuddin said the ASEAN spirit continues to be celebrated throughout the COVID-19 crisis.
“After helping to bring home 84 Malaysians from Egypt on March 28, the Brunei Government donated COVID-19 test kits to Malaysia. Our sincere thanks to His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam for the kind assistance.
“We greatly appreciate the good service of Brunei, which was one of the first countries to express the desire to help Malaysia. If Brunei needs any help, let Malaysia know. We will do our best. Let us pray for our close relationship to continue, God willing.”
Meanwhile, Malaysian Wisma Putra (Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Malaysia) said the contribution of 1,000 COVID test kits units was presented by Acting High Commissioner of Brunei Darussalam to Malaysia Pengiran Asnawi Arbi binti Pengiran Dato Paduka Haji Sharifuddin to Secretary-General of the Foreign Ministry Wisma Putra, Dato’ Sri Muhammad Shahrul Ikram Yaakob.
The contribution was channelled to Institute Medical Research Malaysia on March 31.
