COVID-19 Brunei: Minister reminds public to use BruHealth app (2020)

Minister of Health Dato Seri Setia Dr Haji Mohd Isham bin Haji Jaafar on Friday reiterated the importance for the public to use the BruHealth app for scanning of QR codes in and out of the premises to ensure the safety of the people including sales personnel and customers as well as to facilitate the Ministry of Health (MoH) to make contact tracing in case of an outbreak.

The minister also urged owners of premises to ensure that the public scans the code before entering the premises and prevent those with red, blue or purple codes from entering.

“Let’s all remember each other for the sake of shared health,” he said at the daily press conference at the MoH on Friday.

Following the announcement on the BruHealth app at the recent press conference, Dato Seri Setia Dr Haji Mohd Isham said 188,261 individuals have registered as users to the application at present.

“In addition, 3,056 businesses and premises have registered for the application. Members of the public who have not registered are encouraged to download and register to the BruHealth app.”

The breakdown of the registration for BruHealth app are iOS users 57,029 while Android users are 119,599.

For businesses and premises having registered for the application, 1,199 are restaurants, 229 schools, 277 retail shops, 190 offices, 149 food stalls, 146 government premises, 141 gyms, 63 salons/barbersops, 37 car workshops, 30 health centres and clinics, 29 recreational clubs, 29 shopping malls, 22 places of interests, 15 markets, 12 supermarkets, 12 indoor playgrounds, 10 golf courses, nine places of worship, six cinemas, five hospitals and 367 others.

The minister also highlighted a new feature for takeaways.

“For restaurants providing takeaway, a new feature has been introduced where a separate QR code for takeaway customers can be created for the same premises through www.healthinfo.gov.bn/register.”
