Public cautioned against unlicensed land survey company (2020)

The Survey Department at the Ministry of Development (MoD) informed the public of a company that advertises on its Facebook page, offering measurement services such as boundary marker and plot-making for ground breaking that is not included in the list of companies authorised by the government to carry out survey services.

The public can view the list of Licensed Land Surveyor Companies on the Survey Department official website at http://www.mod.gov.bn/survey/licensed surveyor-licensed.

The department said only licensed land surveyors are authorised to carry out survey work under Section 2 of the Licensed Land Surveyors Act, Chapter 100.

It is an offence for any company not registered as a licensed land surveyoror government surveyor to certify the accuracy of any survey or sign any survey plan, or not a party acting under the direction and supervision of a licensed land surveyor, to do any work relating to the title survey under Section 14 of the Licensed Land Surveyors Act, Chapter 100.

For each offence, a BND5,000 fine will be imposed and a BND50 fine per day for the offence.
