COVID-19 Brunei: Brunei marks 28 days in a row without new COVID-19 cases (as of 05.06.2020)

Brunei Darussalam marked 28 days without new COVID-19 cases on Thursday, retaining the national tally at 141. The total number of recovered cases remains at 138, and only one active case remains at the National Isolation Centre (NIC).

Minister of Health Dato Seri Setia Dr Haji Mohd Isham bin Haji Jaafar shared the updates at the daily press conference on Thursday.

“Alhamdulillah, with the grace of Allah the Almighty, there is no new COVID-19 case in the country. The total number of COVID-19 cases in Brunei Darussalam remains at 141, whereas the total number of recovered cases is 138.”

“There is only one case being treated at the NIC. The patient is in critical condition and requires a heart-lung machine (ECMO) as well as respiratory assistance. Let us together pray for the patient to be granted full recovery by Allah the Almighty,” the minister said.

In the past 24 hours, “320 samples have been tested for the SARS-CoV-2 virus, bringing the total number of laboratory tests conducted since January 2020 to 20,205.”

In its breakdown of COVID-19 cases in the country, healthinfo.gov.bn revealed that there were 110 cases in the Brunei-Muara District, 25 in the Belait District and six in the Tutong District.
