The Labour Department, under the Ministry of Home Affairs, called on all employers to declare their foreign workers dormitories with the department.
A recent operation, involving seven enforcement officers from the department, inspected foreign workers dormitories in Kampong Jerudong, Subok and Rimba. While no violations were found, the department reminded employers that failure to declare a foreign workers dormitory is against the law under Chapter 87 of the Employment Order 2009 and face up to BND3,000 or one-year jail term or both.
Those with information on the misuse of foreign workers licences can contact the department at 2381848 or hotline at 7298989.
