Prosecutors on Tuesday indicted a local man with a charge of arm robbery in the Magistrate’s Court, a case linked to a police arrest on Monday.
Pengiran Mohammad Azharuddin bin Pengiran Haji Tajuddin, 30, was later brought to the Intermediate Court where he pleaded guilty to the charge of committing robbery, armed with a knife, at a convenience store at Jalan Pasir Berakas for the theft of a black bag containing money; phone recharge cards; as well as telephone cards at 7.59am on November 29.
Judge Radin Safiee bin Radin Mas Basiuni convicted the defendant and adjourned the case for further mention today.
DPP Hajah Rozaimah binti Haji Abdul Rahman will also reveal the facts of the case today.
The charge carries a penalty of a maximum 30 years’ jail, seven years minimum with a minimum 12 strokes of the cane.
