The trailer for the 2014 film of Godzilla, directed by Gareth Edwards and starring Aaron-Taylor Johnson, Bryan Cranston and Elizabeth Olsen, has officially been released today!
Godzilla fans have reacted positively on the whole to the brand new trailer released ahead of the remake’s 2014 release.
The official Godzilla trailer shows an American city in the grip of an attack by the giant monster as the US army steps in to try and keep people safe.
Breaking Bad star Bryan Cranston is seen in his role as scientist Joe Brody having an emotional breakdown after being confronted by the scenes of destruction, whilst children are seen running from the CGI Godzilla.
‘YES! It looks like the king has well and truly returned #Godzilla,’ wrote one fan upon seeing the new clip.
Another enthused: ‘I was super suspicious of a new Godzilla movie, but I am feeling cautiously optimistic after seeing the trailer.’
But some were a little more cynical, with one film fan tweeting: ‘Yeah, it looks fine and all, but I just don’t trust Americans with Godzilla. I’ve been hurt before.’
The Warner Bros. reboot is due for release on May 16 next year.
