BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN - SENIOR national lawn bowler Abd Rahman Hj Omar secured his third win in the men’s singles event at the 11th Asian Lawn Bowls Championships yesterday.

His commanding 21-7 win against Japan’s Seishi Yoda comes a day after winning both his opening matches against Singapore’s Terrence Lee (19-18) and China’s Zhang Bo Wen (21-2).

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN - DPMM FC held their annual sponsor signing ceremony for the upcoming Singapore League (S-League) season yesterday.

The ceremony at the Red Jade Room of the Centrepoint Hotel in Gadong was witnessed by DPMM FC vice-chairman YAM Pg Maharaja Setia Laila Diraja Sahibul Irshad Pg Anak Hj Abdul Rahim Pg Indera Mahkota Pg Anak (Dr) Kemaludin Al-Haj.

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN - ABD Rahman Hj Omar got Brunei off to a strong start in the 11th Asian Lawn Bowls Championships men’s singles event after winning both of his opening matches yesterday.

After edging Singapore’s Terrence Lee 19-18, Abd Rahman – who won Brunei’s only medal at the last edition of the tournament in 2014 – went on to hammer China’s Zhang Bo Wen 21-2.

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN - THE national football team are set for their first test of the year when they take on Sabah in today’s Sabah Football Association (SAFA) Tawau Invitational tournament in Tawau, Sabah.

The Wasps will be up against Malaysian Premier League side Sabah, who are coached by former DPMM FC handler Vjeran Simunic, and Malaysian Super League side FELDA United in the three-day competition.

They will face off against the Rhinos at the Tawau Sports Complex today followed by a meeting against FELDA United tomorrow.
