Faiq eager to break into first team at Leicester

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN - FAIQ Jefri Bolkiah is intent on breaking into the first team at newly crowned English Premier League champions Leicester City FC.

The country’s hottest football prospect, Faiq - who turned 18 last Monday - announced the signing of his first professional contract with Leicester on his Instagram account on Friday and is looking forward to the new step in his football career.

113 swimmers pass LTS certification last Sunday

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN - A TOTAL of 113 swimmers passed their Learn to Swim (LTS) certification at the National Aquatics Centre of the Hassanal Bolkiah National Sports Complex in Berakas last Sunday.

Learn to Swim-Brunei is a free service developed by national aquatics head coach Eric Landa to get more Bruneians to learn how to swim properly for their safety, pleasure and health.

Top three through to semis at BDTA Open singles second leg

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN - THE top three seeds at the Brunei Darussalam Tennis Association (BDTA) Open singles second leg eased through to the semi-finals of the competition last night.

Top ranked Mohd Aiman Abdullah defeated Edmund Sumping 6-0, 6-1 while second seed Billy Wong beat Darlin Sia 6-1, 6-0 at the National Tennis Centre of the Hassanal Bolkiah National Sports Complex in Berakas.

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN - THE Brunei Cue Sports Association (BCSA) 6 Reds Snooker Championship 2016 preliminary round concluded on Sunday with another four cueists booking their spots in the quarter-finals.

Teo Chee Soon, Mohd Amran Shah Mohd Isa, Lim Young Wee and Lim Wei Kok will join Mohammad Airwan Zakaria, Mohd Azim Hj Abu Bakar, Mohd Sufri Abdul Rahman and Hj Kamarulzaman Hj Pungut in the top-eight.

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN - SHOOTING Stars Brunei Basketball yesterday signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with MVP Basketball Academy from Malaysia.

Signing on behalf of Shooting Stars was founder Kenneth Han and signing on behalf of MVP Basketball Academy was its director, Wong Wing Wei.
