BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN - THE Knights Rugby Football Club are on the right track to win their first Brunei Rugby Tens Series after winning the second leg last Sunday.

Organised by the Brunei Rugby Football Union (BRFU), the tournament is contested over three legs at the Sungai Asam Sports Complex in Sungai Kebun.

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN - THE next generation of cueists will be getting their first taste of international action at next week’s 7th Golden Break 9-Ball Championship 2016 in Kuala Lumpur.

The sultanate’s top cueist Ahmad Taufiq Murni will be joined by the trio of junior (Under-18) cueists Hj Md Khairuddin Hj Hasnan, Md Haikal Qarin Hj Haironi Hamizin and Abd Wafiy Ismail at the June 11-19 competition.

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN - THE National Football Association Brunei Darussalam (NFABD) Futsal Team (NFT) picked up their first win in the Takaful Brunei Futsal Super League 2016 after a hard-fought 3-1 triumph over Pegastar FT last night.

NFT are now on three points and move one spot up to ninth position in the 11-team table on better goal difference than 1st Five while Pegastar remain eighth with six points.

Kean denies Leeds rumours

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN - DPMM FC coach Steve Kean yesterday dispelled rumours that he was poised to take over at Championship side Leeds United FC.

The English second-tier club were without a manager after the sacking of Steve Evans on Wednesday, and it was reported on Italian website TuttoMercatoWeb that former Blackburn Rovers boss Kean was the favourite to succeed him at Elland Road after holding talks with Leeds’ Italian owner Massimo Cellino.

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN - FOUR national junior athletes will be competing in the 17th Asian Junior Athletics Championships in Vietnam today.

Mohammad Hakeem @ Faiz Sulaiman will be competing in the men’s 100m and 200m event while Rio 2016 Olympics hopeful Maizurah Abd Rahim will be lacing up in the ladies’ 100m and 200m event at the Thong Nhat Stadium in Ho Chi Minh City.
