Lee finishes third in Bangkok

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN - BUSIIDO Brazilian Jiu Jitsu (BJJ) Club’s Nobel Lee felt that he could have done better at Saturday’s Copa De Bangkok BJJ Tournament in Thailand after finishing third.

Lee lost to former Ultimate Fighting Champion (UFC) fighter Tommy Hayden in the purple belt category semi-final at the National Stadium of Chantanayingyong in Bangkok.

Mogard for CrossFit Games Pacific Regional

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN - REEBOK CrossFit 673 founder Michael Mogard will once again represent Brunei at the CrossFit Games Pacific Regional in Australia.

Mogard, who was recently crowned the fittest in the sultanate at the CrossFit Games, is one of the 10 individuals representing Asia who will be up against 30 athletes from Australia and New Zealand.

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN - THE Brunei Basketball Association (BBA) is advising all parties to go through the proper channels should they want to conduct or participate in any basketball activities locally or internationally.

This information was relayed by the sultanate’s basketball governing body to the media at a press conference last night at the BBA court in Batu Bersurat.

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN - THE Table Tennis Secondary Schools and Colleges Championship Zone II 2016 concluded yesterday at the Menglait Sports Complex.

A total of four final matches contested yesterday with Tiang Hock Yong of Katok Secondary School dominated the boy’s singles category ‘C’ after beating Meragang Sixth Form Centre (PTEM)’s Md Syahirah Aizat Suriyazan 3-0 (12-10, 11-7, 11-3).

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN - NATIONAL shuttler Jaspar Yu Woon Chai is keeping himself occupied while awaiting the final decision on whether he will compete at the 2016 Rio Olympics in August through the Tripartite Commission – where a select number of places are given to National Olympic Councils with few or no qualified athletes to participate at the August 5-21 Olympics.
