BBA set to organise two tournaments in July and August

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN - IT WILL be an action-packed July and August for basketball in Brunei.

The Brunei Basketball Association (BBA) have lined up two tournaments with the CIMB Cup - held in conjunction with His Majesty’s Birthday celebrations - to tip off on July 9 followed by the Mum Bakery Cup on August 6.

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN - NATIONAL fencing coach Rocky Poerawinata yesterday said that having more national fencers will boost the country’s chances of success at international tournaments.

The team won one silver and one bronze medal at the recent 2nd Southeast Asian Pacific (SEAP) Fencing Championships in Manila to improve on their two-bronze haul from last year.

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN - THE National Football Association Brunei Darussalam (NFABD) yesterday thanked all relevant stakeholders for their support during the nation-wide NFABD Grassroots Football Festival.

The biennial event attracted more than 1,000 players below the age of 12.

Md Nazib defends MegaStrike 9-Pin Tap Challenge crown





BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN - MD NAZIB Nasruddin (pic) successfully defended his MegaStrike 9-Pin Tap Challenge crown at MegaStrike Bowl at Airport Mall, Berakas on Tuesday.

A total of 42 bowlers attempted the master qualifiers for the inaugural 9-pin championship which started in March, stated MegaStrike Bowl Sdn Bhd in a press release yesterday.

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN - THE Brunei Darussalam Athletics Federation (BDAF) joined the world in celebrating the 21st IAAF (International Association of Athletics Federations) World Athletics Day at the Hassanal Bolkiah National Stadium in Berakas on Sunday.

The annual worldwide athletics festival offers the opportunity to promote the sport through youth participation in clubs and schools, according to the IAAF.
