Nadzri claims fifth spot in Battle of the North event





BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN - NADZRI Harif (pic) of Reebok CrossFit 673 returned from the Battle of the North - Penang’s first ever CrossFit competition - placing fifth overall in the men’s open category.

The Bruneian completed the April 30-May 2 event with a total of 65 points at the Permata Sports Complex in Penang.

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN - MOHAMMAD Airwan Zakaria booked a berth in the quarter-final of the Brunei Cue Sports Association (BCSA) 6 Reds Snooker Championship 2016 on Sunday.

Joining Mohammad Airwan into the top eight of the tournament after the preliminary rounds were Mohd Azim Hj Abu Bakar, Mohd Sufri Mohammad and Hj Kamarulzaman Hj Pungut.

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN - THE Brunei Darussalam Fencing Federation (BDFF) organised a Fencing Open Championship 2016 at the Fencing Hall of the Hassanal Bolkiah National Sports Complex yesterday.

The one-day tournament served as a preparation for the national fencers who will be competing at the Southeast Asia Pacific Fencing Championships & ASEAN Fencing Championships (Juniors and Cadets) in Philippines on May 20.

Muhammad Rafiuddin wins XCO Men Elite event

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN - MUHAMMAD Rafiuddin Zikara of LMCT was crowned the champion of the Cross Country Olympic Circuit (XCO) Men Elite event at the TMChefbox.com Mountain Bike (MTB) Race Challenge yesterday.

Muhammad Rafiuddin clocked a time of 1:30:44.291 to finish ahead of second-placed Muhd Nurjamri Johari of Giant Bicycle (1:31:45.447) and third-placed Kusnadi of KCT (1:35:39.737) in the 4.700km race at the Berakas Forest Reserve Recreational Park.

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN - SHAH United FT cruised to another convincing 5-1 victory over Street United FT in a Takaful Brunei Futsal Super League match at the Multipurpose Hall of the Hassanal Bolkiah National Sports Complex in Berakas last night.

The victory helped Shah United place themselves at second in the 11-team table with six points, surpassing the Royal Brunei Armed Forces Sports Council (MS ABDB) on goal difference.
