Jinadasa confident of starting line-up ahead of Asian C’ships

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN - NATIONAL netball coach Thilaka Jinadasa said that she now knows her starting line-up after the national team played a series of friendly matches in Sabah.

The Royal Bees were in Kota Kinabalu to play three friendly games against the Sabah state netball team as they gear up for the 10th Asian Netball Championship to be held in Thailand from July 30 - August 7.

Faiz Dzuhairy wins Bowler of the Month award

BELAIT - SIXTEEN year old Faiz Dzuhairy Dzarfan bowled a 217 point average across eight consecutive games earlier this month to win Grand Seria Bowling Centre’s bowler of the month award for May.

Faiz was only ranked 13 out of 18 bowlers who qualified for the monthly contest, but the Year 11 student managed 57 strikes and 26 spares, scoring 236, 239, 214, 230, 214, 202, 232 and 170 across game one to eight.

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN - MD KHALID Hj Abu Bakar is through to the quarter-finals of the BCSA (Brunei Cue Sports Association) 9-Ball Singles Championships 2016 after defeating Emran Fadli Amdan 9-5 in the losers’ bracket last night.

Khalid, who is the second ranked cueist in the sultanate, jumped to a quick 6-0 lead before Emran Fadli pulled two back at the Billiards and Snooker Hall of the Hassanal Bolkiah National Stadium in Berakas.

EBL awaiting BBA’s decision

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN - THE ball is now in Brunei Basketball Association’s (BBA) court.

The BBA earlier this month advised all parties to go through the proper channels should they want to participate in any basketball activities locally and internationally.
