Two Australian swimming coaches to conduct programme in Brunei

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN - THE Australian High Commission has teamed up with International School Brunei (ISB) to host two Australian coaches from April 25-29.

The duo of Joanne Love and Haydn Belshaw will be in the Sultanate to share their expertise with more than 60 coaches and teachers - from government and international schools - across Brunei and Labuan.

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN - DPMM FC slumped to their third defeat of the Singapore League (S-League) season after leaders Albirex Niigata (S) FC came from behind to win 2-1 last night.

The hosts took the lead through Azwan Ali Rahman before a double by league-leading scorer Atsushi Kawata helped Albirex to gain maximum points and their second win against the Brunei side this season.

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN - DPMM FC face a tough test when they host joint-Singapore League (S-League) table toppers Albirex Niigata (S) FC in the first match of the league’s second round tonight.

The reigning S-League champions lost 3-2 to Albirex in February’s season opener, a result which also saw the Japanese outfit – which won the Singapore Cup and Singapore League Cup last season – claim the Community Shield.

Two Brunei teams qualify for WAITGC grand final

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN - THERE will be at least two Bruneian teams at November’s World Amateur Inter-Team Golf Championship (WAITGC) grand final in Langkawi after Kazan and Ambuyat progressed from this week’s qualifiers in Sabah.

Kazan’s Hj Yusof Latif, Zaini Abd Rahman, Pg Zamani Pg Ahmed and Hj Muhd Zamri Dato Paduka Hj Hamdani finished third at yesterday’s second qualifying leg to progress to the grand final.

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN - THE National Football Association of Brunei Darussalam (NFABD) hope that this week’s working visit to the Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) will be the start of Brunei’s return to Malaysia’s football leagues.

The sultanate has a rich history of involvement in Malaysian football, culminating in Brunei’s 1999 Malaysia Cup win – long seen as one of the country’s most important achievements in the sport.
