BDAF confirm five athletes for SUKMA

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN - THE Brunei Darussalam Athletics Federation (BDAF) will be sending five athletes to compete at this month’s Malaysia Games (SUKMA) in Sarawak.

Md Asy Syafi’e Md Bohari will be lacing up in the men’s 100m event and will team up with the trio of Mohd Rachmat Safar, Mohd Faaizul Abdullah and Muhd Hakeem@Faiz Sulaiman in the 4x100m relay event at the biennial tournament which runs from July 22 to 31 this year.

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN - THE national Under-16 team fell to a 2-0 defeat to hosts Cambodia in Group B of the 2016 AFF (ASEAN Football Federation) Under-16 Youth Championship in Phom Penh last night.

Cambodia, who kicked off their campaign with a 3-1 win over Laos on Monday, got off to a strong start by finding the net in the 37th minute through Sean Sopeaktra at the Olympic Stadium.

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN - D’SUNLIT notched their second straight win of the SpeedSend Cup with a 79-67 victory over JCMK in Group A play last night.

D’Sunlit imports Len Springs and Devon Sullivan combined for a total of 41 points in the win – the former contributing a team-high 21 points.

Andi to face Arun in final

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN - MD NURUL Andi Hambali will face India’s Arun Isak Rahul Kumar in today’s final of the Brunei Darussalam Tennis Association (BDTA) Junior Singles tournament second leg.

Top seed Md Nurul Andi needed an hour to beat Ben Sii 6-0, 6-0 to progress to the final at the National Tennis Centre of the Hassanal Bolkiah National Stadium in Berakas at 4.30 pm today.

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN - THE national netball team cruised past Maldives 70-22 in their first of five friendly games at the National Indoor Stadium of the Hassanal Bolkiah Sports Complex in Berakas yesterday.

The Royal Bees started well in the opening round with all their 12 players finding the net as they led 19-4 going into the second quarter.
