BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN - EASYWAY team manager Wira Pori yesterday said he had no reason to celebrate despite back-to-back blowout wins in the SpeedSend Cup.

They picked up their second victory in Group B after brushing aside Rotary 135-48 at the Brunei Basketball Association court in Batu Bersurat last night after opening their campaign with a 128-64 triumph over Baotime on Sunday.

Andi reaches BDTA junior tourney semis

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN - MD Nurul Andi Hambali advanced to the semi-finals of the second leg of the Brunei Darussalam Tennis Association (BDTA) Junior Singles tournament after dispatching Henry Kwang Wai Liang of Malaysia 6-0, 6-0 on Monday.

Top seed Md Nurul Andi will face fellow Bruneian Ben Sii in the semi-final at the National Tennis Centre of the Hassanal Bolkiah National Sports Complex in Berakas at 4.30pm today.

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN - DPMM FC coach Steve Kean is pinning all his hopes on the Singapore League Cup for a chance of silverware this season.

The most successful team in the competition, three-time winners DPMM FC will kick off their Group A campaign against Warriors FC at the Jalan Besar Stadium in Singapore tonight.

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN - DPMM FC’S Portuguese forward Paulo Sergio was ecstatic to see his country etch their name into immortality after his countrymen edged France 1-0 in Sunday’s Euro 2016 final to win their first major title.

Though he never earned a senior cap, Sergio played for the Portugal Under-21 side over a decade ago and was teammates with the current crop of national players such as captain Cristiano Ronaldo, Ricardo Quaresma, Joao Moutinho, Eliseu, Nani, Cedric Soares and Jose Fonte.

Busiido BJJ Club bag two golds

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN - BUSIIDO Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Club finished strongly at the South East Asian Grappling and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Challenge in Singapore.

The club's only representatives Ahmad Faez Anuar and Hj Abdul Hadi Bakir won another two gold and one bronze yesterday to end the two-day tournament with a total of five gold, one silver and one bronze medals.
