Brunei need to keep focus against Cambodia

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN - INTERIM national coach Mike Wong Mun Heng (pic) called on the national football team to keep their focus having to play in front of 50,000 spectators when they take on hosts Cambodia in the AFF (ASEAN Football Federation) Suzuki Cup qualifiers today at the National Olympic Stadium in Phnom Penh.

Brunei are in a confident mood having started their campaign with a 2-1 comeback victory over Timor Leste on Saturday.

Chee Soon claims 9-ball challenge third leg

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN - TEO Chee Soon (pic) claimed the third leg of the National 9-Ball Ranking Challenge after defeating Pg Anak Abd Awadi ZH Pg Anak Latifuddin 7-4 in the final on Sunday.

Teo had started out the day defeating Md Khalid Hj Abu Bakar for 7-3 victory at the Master Alim Pool Cafe in Kiulap.

Setia Motors netball tourney to be held on Nov 6

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN - NETBALL teams in the country are invited to join next month’s Setia Motors Netball Championship.

Co-organised by Setia Motors and Brunei Netball Association (BNA), the tournament will tip-off on November 6 at the Multipurpose Hall of the Hassanal Bolkiah National Sports Complex in Berakas.

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN - THE national hockey team created history on Saturday after both the men’s and women’s team made it to the Federation International Hockey (FIH) world ranking for the first time.

In the latest revised world ranking table updated in the FIH official website, the men’s team is ranked 82nd out of 89, recording a total of 20 points, sitting ahead of Solomon Islands, Tonga, Ecuador, Myanmar, Panama, Vietnam and Morocco.

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN - NO rain was going to prevent Albirex Niigata (S) FC from clinching their maiden Singapore League (S-League) title last night, becoming the first team to win all three Singapore trophies.

Atsushi Kawata, Masaya Jitozono and Rui Kumada found the back of the net in the first half in their 3-0 win over Hougang United FC at the Jalan Besar Stadium in Singapore.
