THE ZerOneEight Mixed Martial Arts Academy (018 MMA) is ending the year on a high note with a haul of 14 gold and five silver medals, from two separate taekwondo tournaments in Indonesia and Malaysia last week.

Head coach Haji Ismadey bin Haji Hussein spent a gruelling six weeks preparing the 018 MMA teams in terms of management programmes and intensive training.

IN ITS efforts to promote and encourage more involvement of local residents in Ten Pin Bowling, Plaza Sutera Biru will host the inaugural Master Tournament, which is expected to start on January 8 to November 26, 2017.

Speaking during the press conference yesterday, Tony Lim, manager of the Bowling of Plaza Sutera Biru, said the tournament offers prizes worth up to $7,000.

BRUNEI Darussalam national netball coach Thilaka Jinadasa has outlined advanced preparations ahead of the Southeast Asian (SEA) Games year as they look forward to emulate their bronze-winning exploits from the previous edition shall they get the nod to compete in Kuala Lumpur.

BRUNEI Darussalam finished fourth in the Asian Men’s Netball Championship after being ousted 61-27 by India in the third placing match at the KLIA Quarters in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia recently.

India’s imposing goal shooter used their height to the advantage and despite suffering from a barrage of baskets, Brunei Darussalam still succeeded in converting numerous opportunities.

Baiduri champions of Inter-Bank Bowling tourney

THE Inter-Bank Bowling Tournament was recently held at the Megastrike Bowling Centre, Airport Mall in Berakas and saw the participation of 11 teams from the Brunei Association of Banks (BAB) members.

Baiduri Team 1 was crowned as the champions of the Team category followed by HSBC and BIBD Team 1, who came in second and third respectively.
