THE Royal Brunei Land Forces (RBLF) emerged as the overall champions of the ABDB Sepak Takraw Championship 2016 finals, held yesterday at the Dewan Gerak Badan of Bolkiah Garrison.

Present as the guest of honour to present the prizes and the championship trophy was the Commander of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF), Pehin Datu Pekerma Jaya Major General Dato Paduka Seri Mohd Tawih bin Abdullah.

BRUNEI Darussalam striker Shahrazen Said has been named top scorer in the AFC Solidarity Cup after netting four goals and providing one assist in the recently-concluded competition in Kuching, Malaysia.

The award marked the second individual accomplishment in a matter of days for the player after becoming the country’s record goal-scorer with eight goals in 20 appearances on Saturday.

BRUNEI Darussalam midfielder Rosmin Kamis has announced his retirement from international football at the age of 35 following the end of his country’s campaign in the AFC Solidarity Cup in Kuching, Malaysia on Monday.

The DPMM FC midfielder has earlier provided the clearest of indications that the tournament could be his final swansong on social media during the team’s journey to Kuching.

BRUNEI Darussalam ended their AFC Solidarity Cup campaign without the consolation of a third place finish after slipping to a 3-2 defeat at the hands of Laos at Sarawak Stadium in Kuching last night.

Xaisongkham Champathong carved the first decent opportunity for the Laotians in the first minute after Brunei were dispossessed off the ball when his low shot forced an unorthodox save from Brunei’s second-choice goalkeeper Md Tarmizi bin Johari.
