BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN - THE national football team have one foot in the AFC (Asian Football Confederation) Solidarity Cup 2016 semi-finals after a 4-0 drubbing of 10-man Timor Leste in Kuching last night.

The victory was Brunei’s biggest in recent memory after beating Timor Leste 4-1 in 2008.

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN - ONG Chee Mang is looking to come back even stronger next year after his stint at last month’s grand finals of the Rotax Max Challenge in Italy.

The 35-year-old Stratos Motorsports go-karter was knocked out in the pre-finals of the DD2 Masters Category after placing 68th out of the field of 72 racers — with only 34 racers advancing to the final — at the Oct 15-22 event at the Napoli International Circuit in Italy.

Nat’l darts team to be selected after three local tourneys

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN - DARTS enthusiasts are invited to take part in three local tournaments this month which serve as selection for the national darts team at next month’s Phoenix Cup to be held in Malaysia from December 17-18.

The first tournament is a mixed doubles event that will be held on Sunday at the Swoop Darts Club in Kiarong.

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN - NATIONAL football team skipper Rosmin Hj Md Kamis highlighted the importance of starting their campaign strongly at the AFC (Asian Football Confederation) Solidarity Cup 2016 in Kuching.

The Wasps will kick off their Group A campaign against Timor Leste in the curtain raiser today at the Sarawak Stadium, and a victory in the three-team group will put them in a good position to qualify for the semi-finals.

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN - IT CAME as no surprise that Albirex Niigata (S) FC were the biggest winners during last night’s 2016 Singapore League Awards Night.

Albirex created history by becoming the first team to complete a treble by winning the Singapore League (S-League), Singapore Cup and Singapore League Cup the same season.
