Sports School eyeing Langkawi Open

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN - THE head coach of the Sports School’s badminton department, Yusof Hj Ghani, is targeting the 5th Langkawi International Badminton Championship (Langkawi Open) after confirming his team will not be part of the contingent for this year’s ASEAN School Games in Chiang Mai, Thailand.

Yusof insists that the ASG let-down will not deter his preparations for his athletes to compete in the annual Langkawi Open set to be held from December 8 - 11.

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN - DPMM FC face an uphill battle to qualify for the semi-finals of the Singapore Cup after losing the first leg of their quarter-final clash to Ceres-La Salle FC of the Philippines 3-0 last night.

Stephan Schrock bagged a double while Manuel Ott found the net once to put DPMM FC in an unenviable position against the United Football League (UFL) reigning champions when the two teams meet again in Sunday’s second leg.

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN - NATIONAL aquatic sports head coach Eric Landa has confirmed that two national swimmers will represent Brunei at this year’s 16th Malaysia Games (SUKMA) to be held in Kuching, Malaysia, from July 22 to 31.

National swimmer Ashley Chai will be competing in the 50m freestyle event and the 50m, 100m and 200m backstroke events.
