A boost for Brunei football (2020)

The National Football Association of Brunei Darussalam (NFABD) will soon have new facilities after signing an agreement under the FIFA Forward Development programme with Gemilang Latif Associates at the MPH, Level 1, NFABD House on Thursday.

Gemilang Latif Associates will oversee the construction of NFABD’s new technical centre and mini grandstand. The project, estimated at USD2.1 million, is expected to be completed by December 2021.

AFF president lauds efforts in managing COVID-19 (2020)

His Royal Highness Prince Haji Sufri Bolkiah, Deputy President of the ASEAN Football Federation (AFF) attended the virtual 27th AFF Congress Meeting 2020 recently.

In the meeting, AFF President Major General Khiev Sameth lauded the 12 member associations affiliated under the regional football governing body for acting decisively in managing the pandemic.

BCF moves to promote chess in schools (2020)

The Brunei Chess Federation (BCF) has outlined plans to promote chess to every school in Brunei Darussalam following a chess workshop for teachers and students of Cemerlang Abejess Secondary School (SECA) in Kampong Kapok, Muara recently.

Conducted by coach FIDE Master (FM) Aliuddin and Mohammad Shawal, among the objectives of the workshop were to enhance knowledge of the game among teachers, staff and students.

Brunei football on the search for new head coach (2020)

The National Football Association of Brunei Darussalam (NFABD) is on the lookout for a new head coach for the country’s senior football team with three candidates short-listed for the position.

This was said by NFABD President Pengiran Haji Matusin bin Pengiran Haji Matasan during a press conference at the NFABD House on Tuesday.

‘READY, SET, GO!’ for virtual run (2020)

Running enthusiasts can now register to join Brunei’s first-ever interactive virtual run – READY, SET, GO! – following the launch of its website www.eventsbn.com recently.

Participants can do their running at any place and time, and their running evidences uploaded onto the website. The first three participants to complete each category will be rewarded.
