BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN - TELECOMS service provider DST continued their support of local football with the sponsorship of National Football Association of Brunei Darussalam (NFABD) tournaments yesterday.

The signing of the agreement makes DST Group the title sponsor for this year’s DST Super League, DST Premier League, DST FA Cup and DST Sumbangsih Cup.

BRUKAF to organise selections

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN - THE Brunei Karate Federation (BRUKAF) is set to organise a selection for July’s Malaysian Games (SUKMA) in Kuching.

The selection will only be open to members who are studying the five karate styles – Wado, Shito, Goju, Shotokan and Ryu-go – registered under BRUKAF, and it will be held at the Menglait Sports Complex in Gadong on Feb 28.

National athletes offer differing views on allowance

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN - DIFFERING views were shared by national athletes when they were asked about their stance on training allowances.

Speaking to The Brunei Times during the sidelines of the Excellence Incentive Reward Scheme (SPKS) ceremony at the Green Room of the Hassanal Bolkiah National Stadium in Berakas on Wednesday, national sprinter Md Noor Firdaus Ar-Rashid Hj Md Idris said that the lack of training allowance hampered his motivation.

Need for proper pre-season addressed in FIFA course

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN - THE first-ever FIFA Pre-season Coaching Course kicked off at the National Football Association of Brunei Darussalam (NFABD) House along Jalan Pusat Persidangan in Berakas yesterday.

Conducted by Singaporean FIFA instructor PN Nair Sivaji, a total of 25 coaches from the DST Super League, DST Premier League and the national youth team were selected to attend the course as part of their ongoing coaching development.
