Prince Haji Sufri graces Olympic Day 2019

HIS Royal Highness Prince Haji Sufri Bolkiah, President of Brunei Darussalam National Olympic Council (BDNOC) joined local athletes to celebrate Olympic Day 2019 at the Multi-Purpose Hall of the Hassanal Bolkiah National Sports Complex on Sunday.

Accompanying His Royal Highness were Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran Anak ‘Aliiyah Amalul Bulqiah, Vice President of BDNOC Haji Mohd Zamri bin Dato Paduka Haji Hamdani in his capacity as the Co-Chairman of the Organising Committee, as well as the members of the committee.

THE second edition of the International Basketball Foundation (IBF) Youth Leaders Basketball Cup 3×3 Brunei qualifiers concluded at the Brunei Basketball Association (BBA) Court in Batu Bersurat on Sunday.

Wolves Basketball emerged champion of the Boys Under-18 category, followed by MSSBD and Heat.

TOP junior wushu athletes from across Asia are expected to converge in Brunei Darussalam to compete in the 10th Asian Junior Wushu Championship at the Indoor Stadium of the Hassanal Bolkiah National Sports Complex in Berakas from August 16-24.

It will mark the first time the Brunei Darussalam Wushu Federation (BDWF) will host such a massive competition in the country.

Netball under-21s show improvement ahead of Japan meet, says head coach (2019)

BRUNEI Darussalam’s under-21 national netball team head coach Jane Searle highlighted that the players have improved since she took charge as head coach ahead of the Asian Youth Netball Championship (ANYC) in Kashima, Japan from tomorrow until July 7.

Searle, who originally coaches the senior setup, joined the team recently but saw the improvement in her charges in a short period since starting her reign as head coach.

BDNOC organises Olympic Day on June 30 (2019)

THE International Olympic Committee (IOC) recognises June 23 as Olympic Day and encourages National Olympic Committees from around the world to organise events to enlighten the community about the Olympic Movement and “nurture a spirit of mutual understanding and friendship and to contribute to the construction of a peaceful and better world through sports”.
