DPMM FC returned to a heroes’ welcome organised by the Youth and Sports Department, Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports (MCYS) yesterday afternoon after making their best-ever finish in the Singapore Cup as 2018’s first runners-up in the final match against Albirex Niigata (S) at Jalan Besar Stadium in Singapore on Saturday evening.

THE Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF) Inter-Services Golf Tournament 2018 was held at the RBAF Golf Club, Berakas Garrison. The guest of honour was Minister of Defence II Pehin Datu Lailaraja Major General (Rtd) Dato Paduka Seri Haji Awang Halbi bin Haji Mohd Yussof.

Six teams consisting of Ministry of Defence (MinDef), Royal Brunei Land Force (RBLF), Royal Brunei Navy (RBN), Royal Brunei Air Force (RBAirF) and the combined team from the RBAF Training Institute and RBAF Defence Academy participated in the tournament.

THE Brunei Darussalam Men’s and Ladies Masters Softball Teams departed yesterday morning to compete in the 6th Men’s Master Fastpitch Softball Tournament and 4th Ladies Masters Fastpitch Softball Tournament from October 11 – 14 at Hagashi Kagawa City in Japan.

Seven leave for Youth Olympics in Argentina

A CONTINGENT of seven comprising three athletes and four officials left the country early yesterday for the 3rd Summer Youth Olympic Games in Buenos Aires, Argentina from October 6-18.

Minister of Defence II Pehin Datu Lailaraja Major General (Rtd) Dato Paduka Seri Haji Awang Halbi bin Haji Mohd Yussof was present to bid farewell in his capacity as the Acting Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports.

THE Brunei Rugby Football Union (BRFU) under-14 team will participate in a rugby tournament and exchange from today until October 9 in Fukuoka, Japan.

The aim of the rugby exchange festival is to grow and develop the game in Asia and to facilitate fostering next-generation leaders of Asian countries and promote their international exchanges through the game.
