Brunei Darussalam’s under-19 team endured a tough 9-0 defeat as Thailand ran riot in the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Under-19 Championship Qualifiers 2020 at the National Olympic Stadium in Phnom Penh, Cambodia on Monday.

The Young Wasps came into the match on the back of a 4-3 win against Northern Mariana Islands last weekend while Thailand were the fresher side playing in their first match.

His Royal Highness Prince Haji Sufri Bolkiah, President of the National Football Association of Brunei Darussalam (NFABD) attended the Asian Football Confederation’s (AFC) Social Responsibility Conference and the Social Responsibility (SR) Committee Meeting in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia recently.

The second AFC Social Responsibility Conference underlined the power of football to inspire hope and strengthen communities across Asia.

Peak Performance Swim Club (PPSC) emerged as overall champions of the Brunei 7-9 Years Old Swimming Course Swimming Championship after accumulating a haul of 15 gold, 10 silver and 11 bronze medals at the International School Brunei (ISB) Swimming Pool recently.

A total of 166 young swimmers from 12 swim clubs including clubs from Malaysia participated in the bi-annual junior short course competition.

Dozens attend Netfit All Stars programme at JIS (2019)

The Netfit All Stars Netball Programme organised by the Brunei Netball Association (BNA) kicked off on Friday with a visit to the Jerudong International School (JIS).

Around 80 students ranging from Years 5-13 took part in the mass warm-up fitness session as part of a two-hour event.

The Brunei Darussalam under-19 national team left the country on Thursday to take part in the 2020 Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Under-19 Championship qualifiers at the National Olympic Stadium in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, which will be held on November 2-10.
